Matt's roots with American Jewish University extend back to 2004 when he was hired as the Program Director of the university's Continuing Education department.  In November 2008, Matt took over as Director of American Jewish University's Office of Undergraduate Admissions, and his goal since that time has been simple: recruit dynamic and talented students who are interested in a truly unique and powerful college experience.  Born and raised in Sacramento, California, Matt's passion for Jewish life and culture started in high school shortly after getting involved with United Synagogue Youth and Camp Ramah.  Matt graduated from UCLA - where he was actively involved with Hillel - in 2001 with a BA in Anthropology.   When he's not in the office, Matt enjoys being outside and getting active - running, swimming, biking, beach volleyball, softball, basketball...anything goes!

While Emily began working as an Admissions Counselor at American Jewish University in August 2011, she first became oriented with the Jewish community at her JCC pool when she was 6 months old. Her involvement continued through Kadima, United Synagogue Youth, and Camp Eisner. During her time at the University of Southern California, Emily actively participated in both Hillel and Chabad. Emily graduated from USC in May 2011 with a BA in Psychology and a minor in Applied Theater Arts. Originally from Niskayuna in Schenectady County (upstate New York), Emily is very close with her family, including her two younger sisters. Emily enjoys being with friends and family, her first crush was Peter Pan, and she may secretly like country music.
